We Support JIPA and JETRO’s Anti-Counterfeiting Mission in Türkiye
Last week, we were delighted to support and accompany the Japanese Intellectual Property Association (JIPA) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) during their visits to Istanbul and Izmir.
In Istanbul, we held productive meetings at Bakırköy Courthouse and İstanbul Courthouse, with the Chairs of the respective Judicial Commissions, focusing on the challenges in obtaining search and seizure warrants in anti-counterfeiting processes and the increasing challenges of counterfeiting in e-commerce – where we also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between Japan and Türkiye and explored joint solutions to combat counterfeiting.
In Izmir, we participated in several highly informative meetings with the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor, and prosecutors at the forefront of intellectual property matters. JIPA members also exchanged insights with the Aegean Customs and Foreign Trade Regional Directorate, Izmir Customs Directorate, and the Izmir Police Department – Security Branch.
It was a great honor to accompany the JIPA and JETRO delegation during these visits, and we truly enjoyed the opportunity to share sectoral experience and best practices through mutual collaboration.
